00I think I have asked numerous quiestions on the article and have gotten as many great answers or responses, but when I see something like below, I still have some questions about it.02br

00If I were the person who wrote this sentence, at the beginning, I would have wondered, "Umm, should I put an article before the word 'optional'?" I think I am giving the person I am writing to an option that is not part of a usual routine (ie, that is I don't usually will be giving options in situations like this to a person). so it could be interpreted as making a type or an instance of something that is not usually done in typical siutations; but at the same time, without explicit or implicit due context, it would be difficult to justify the use of the article and writing without an article might as well be the right thing to do.02br

00Come to think of it, I think 'dinner' might not be a good word use to ask this type of question and how about this what-looks-to-be similar one?02br
