I would like to submit my candidature for the PhD position in the <field name> at < Engineering research group>, as advertised in the Department Website. I am currently working as Firmware Engineer at<company name>. I am extremely interested in pursuing my Doctoral research at <univ name>, as its Engineering Research programs have a stellar reputation that is known worldwide. With a Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics and a Master’s in Embedded System Technologies, I expect that my Research works will contribute enormously to my future career plans. I believe that my academic training and one year of experience working as an Embedded Firmware Engineer equipped me to be an effective researcher and instructor.

My Bachelor’s Studies, dissertation was conducted under the direction of <guide name>, in the area of Embedded Systems titled ‘<thesis title>’. The outcome of the project helped me realize the advantages and high potential for applications of Embedded Mobile computing. I continued working on the project in the following year and succeeded with a publication in <conference name>

During my graduate studies, I have been fortunate enough to participate in <conf name> which gave me a clear picture for my Master’s dissertation work and ideas about the Wireless sensor networks and it’s distributed computing from the participants, who were presenting their research work from various parts’ of the world. Master’s dissertation was conducted under the direction of <Prof.name>, in the area of Automotive Electronics with aims to Greener the Energy Computation and it looks at the use of a relatively new methodology for the <title name>. In my research, I developed an integrated design and analysis environment for this methodology in which both strength and serviceability requirements are explicitly satisfied. I also got a chance to do a research work in the area of Automated Medical Embedded System under the title< research project name and its description>

Although my dissertation focuses on some specific areas, My participation in <Conference name> pulled my interest and gave me a high hope for my future research stem on doing a research in <desired research title and its description of 2 lines>.

During my graduate training, I have been fortunate enough to also serve as a teaching assistant and occasionally instruct for an intermediate level course and a lab session on <Course name> for undergraduate course. My professional experience as a Firmware Engineer has provided me with a broad view that is useful in assisting students with projects and assignments. Through my participation as a teaching assistant, I have developed confidence and an interest in teaching and looking forward to an opportunity to teach both assigned classes and to develop my own classes.

Throughout my graduate studies, I had been serving as a Student Placement Representative for the academic year 2009-11. I had organized various National level Technical Symposiums & Conferences Also, I am an Executive Member of ‘Rotaract Club’ under which I have organized many programmes to support Orphanage and differently abled students, which helped me to realize my interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
