Need some feedback

Could you please give me some feedback as to grammar mistakes/vocabulary. I spent a lot of time editing and improving my sentences.

No sooner had my eyes descended on the question “What is your favourite project?” than my mind guided me through a tick deposit of dusty memories, illuminating one that transpired about six years ago. Astounded I was! For eons, I expected to search my mind and still fail to select my favourite one for every project left deep impressions on my mind. Obviously, not as deep as this one.
To reconstruct this memory of mine, I needed details-many details. To my horror they were shrouded in dense fog-forgetfulness claimed most of them. Only blurry images were floating in my mind; nevertheless, the essence of this experience was intact. My perseverance, my determination, you can even call it obstinacy, would not let me abandon this old memory for a younger one, vivid and fresh in my mind. Like an archaeologist, I attempted to excavate the details which would help me piece together my experience. Extremely arduous it was to extricate them from the grip of forgetfulness. As a fragmented detail, related to this project, re-emerged from the darkness, in haste, I would transfer it onto paper. As the collection of the details grew so did the mental picture.

Thanks
