Need sentence correction.

Hi teachers,

Would you tell me which is the correct one?

a) I try doing anything before watching TV.

b) I try to do anything before I watch TV.

If both of them are wrong, will you tell me 'the one', please?

Thanks in advance

Both seem unidiomatic. Are you trying to say that you strongly dislike watching TV?

Hi Clive,

This the whole sentence:

'I used to watch TV a lot but now I use my time to study, read,...etc. I try doing anything before watching TV.'

There's something is wrong isn't there?
