It would be possible to provide one in prior context. (Let's say it's not impossible.)

When we use the singular without an article or pronoun, I believe "change routine" becomes a fixed expression.

'It' instead of 'them' at the end.

I'd say it's okay, but the choice of words is not the best. I wouldn't call it a conversation starter.
In the middle of a conversation, we might use the present continuous:

If we're talking about art, we can see a lot of varieties in it. Even this seems to imply some prior context.

"Variety" as an uncountable seems more appropriate:

If we're talking about art, we can see a lot of variety in it. The meaning is still not exactly clear.

Do we mean "If we're discussing art," or do we mean, "If art is what we're referring to"?

By "see," do we mean "acknowledge," or "look at"?

Perhaps the "text" will reveal all!

Question mark after "change routine."
"Different colors, different shapes" is not a sentence. It's sort of an appositive, or parenthetical expression.

Personally, I'd use a dash after "variety in it."

I agree with dr.m. In this context, the present simple works (as well as the present continuous.)
