Thinking Spain Hi teachers,Who phoned Mr. Thanks in advance It is a double sentence in which there are two clauses joined by a conjunction 'while'. Both clauses, here, are the main ones, each with its subject and a finite verb.

But on the second thought, it seems to be a complex sentence where the main clause is Who phoned Mr. Tigers and the while he was out is an adverbial of time qualifying the verb phoned in the main clause.

Thank you. So the second one 'while he was out' is also a depedent clause, isn't it?
