Need help writing an essay for Fashion Institute of Technology

I have been trying to find the right way to write an essay for the Fashion Institute of Technology. I love writing and have written many things in my life but I panic when it comes time to write an essay for this school. I do not know many big words and have not had much oppurtunity to be out there joinning clubs and such to add to my essay. I have however done many big things that seemed like big accomplishments to me. I am apart of a few online organizations like Global Warming, Presidential Prayer Team and One but they may not count? I do help people but not in any phsyical organizations. I just help people in every day situations like my family, at work, my friends and on the streets. I didnt have a stable household so my concerns were much more focused on the future and my insecurities/shyness kept me from pursuing alot of activities during my school years but I did recieve alot of awards for art projects throughout my school years and I was also given the chance to go away to Philadelphia for an art scholarship but my mother would not allow to me travel to the city alone.

Anyway, I seriously have been wanting to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology for a long time. I have been dreaming of being a Fashion Designer since I was very young and have been drawing designs ever since. I could not wait until I finally got out of schol to pursue it.

So I have to write an autobiography for this school. I can write and write al day if I could but my wording and punctuation is terrible.

Could someone give me some advice?

I am going to write my first draft tonight, would someone be able to proofread ?

Thanks and Happy new Year!

Advice? 1) Do not worry about using 'big words' - it is better to use simple language that clearly expresses what you mean. 2) Do not waffle too much.

  • 3) Certainly include your art projects and you could mention your offer of an art scholarship and then just say that unfortunately you were unable to take advantage of this.
