Need Help with Understanding 'ly' Words Better

Hey,

So, from my understanding it looks like the best rule of thumb for using words ending in 'ly' is as an adjective before any other word. If you are ending your sentence with a 'ly' word, then it's not going to be stylistic and may be grammatically incorrect. Is my understanding correct?

He was wrongly accused
He said it wrong

Thanks for the help!
