Need help with this riddle
3 students purchase a coffee table for the sum of £30 from the local second hand shop paying £10 each. The owner thanks them for the business and promises to deliver it the next day.
The next day he loads the table onto the vehicle and gives the delivery driver £5 to return to the students as "they are good customers". The driver sets off and en-route decides that the students would never know if he bought himself a sandwich out of the £5. He delivers the table and gives the students £3 back "for being good customers"
One says " Thanks that's great, that means we've only paid £9 each for the table". The driver sets off and suddenly has a thought "if the students have paid £9 each, that’s £27 and i spent £2 on a sandwich that's £29 in total".. Where has the other £ gone" ....

Of course the other pound can't just disappear. The answer is that there is that no reason that what the students paid and what the sandwich costs should equal 30 pounds.

There is no missing money - the original 30 now becomes 25, and the 3 that are returned are added to the 2 for the sandwich and totals what was given back. Of course it is THIS very type of logic that we face from all the world governments every day, and they pocket the money. It may not be much, for example, but if you had one penny for each resident of the United States, you would have over 3
