Need help with Grammar issue

Hi There

Can any English master explain to me why this is wrong sentence please,

"I saw him waited for the bus" is incorrect English but why?

Correct English is "I saw him wait/waiting for the bus or I saw him as he waited for the bus"

Many thanks in advance and appreciate your effort/time

Regards

William Chen "I saw him waited for the bus" is incorrect English but why? It's incorrect because no native speaker says so. The grammatical reason is that waited seems to begin a clause, but there is no conjunction before it, nor is there a grammatical subject for the past tense verb waited.
