Need help with a sentence. A rather easy one I believe.
Is this sentence OK, or should I write it differently? :

I'm not crazy about "I will try to do my best to" - I think you can simplify to either "I will try to..." or "I will do my best to..." Otherwise, it sounds a bit like a Scouting pledge.

Yes, it is very tentative, on reflection. Simplification wouldn't hurt.
(But I suppose much depends on the antecedent of "them". If it's "genial Post-Bloomfieldians" or "spellbinding after-dinner speakers on Functional Sentence Perspective", a certain tentativeness may well be warranted.)
