Need Help to correct

Hi,

I am a german and I need help to correct the summary ...

The excerpt from the short story "I Care for You Very Much" by Joan Bauer was published in 2001 and deals with sexual abstinence and growing up problems.

The story is told by Beth an eighteen-year-old senior at her high school and Cal, a freshman semester student in Penn State. The text begins with a justification from Beth why she is in the abstinence corner. She works the late shift at “The Ice Cream Man Cometh”. Beth says that this is the first hot day in May and they have trouble serving all customers. In addition to all this stress, she also looked into the queue which got bigger and bigger. She saw this mysterious man standing in line. It was her dream man, as she said to herself. When he moved on in the queue, his and Beth's eyes met and were first locked to each other. Beth tried to manage her service in such a way that she can definitely serve the extremely handsome man. When he finally got to her, Beth did not made it to serve him, but the man told Beth's co-worker with his rough, deep voice, that he wanted him to be served by Beth. This voice finally hit the major chord with Beth. So she could serve him. He ordered wonderfully distinctive coconut ice cream, Beth reported. He ate his ice cream in one of the chairs, which are provided by the Ice Cream stand, waiting for Beth until closing time. When she finally had shop closing her crush invited she to a coffee. She had doubts. But in the end, she decided to go to the date. At this time, they got to know each other better. His name is Cal. Cal asked about her interests and she liked the profound thoughts of Cal. That was the day they started their relationship. Beth said that it went on like that for a while. This also realized the mother from Beth one day. So she knocked on the bedroom door of Beth. Beth did not care about her issue, but the mother was worried and insisted on talking to her daughter about what they had not done for a while. Beth told her mother over and over again that she'll make it and that she has no need for discussion. Beth finally choked the conversation by questioning her mother's trust in her and telling her that she knew about the risks. A week later, something happened that Beth did not want at first and she did not understand why she had agreed to it:

She was in the student apartment of Cal. In the beginning everything was fine, they just sat on the bed and ate chips. Then Cal pushed the chips away and started kissing her everywhere and their bodies touched more and more. He kissed her deeper and better than she could have imagined, Beth said. Cal touched her thigh and said in his deep, craggy voice that he loved her. That was the moment Beth realized she was wild with wanting him. They had closer contact so they rolled from the bed to the bowl full of chips, which then spread throughout the room, also under Beth's shoulder. So the mood lit up and she told Cal to help her free the chips from her shoulder. That and her Catholic education made her to found the resolve to tell Cal to stop. She nudged him away gently, but Cal did not understand this and said he had just started. Cal tried to change her mind because she felt so good, but Beth did not let up. Then Beth decided to get up and turn on the light, finally destroying the hold of the moment.

There sat Cal with his shirt open and completely confused, but absolutely unbelievably pretty, how Beth found. She said that she is a virgin and he tried to understand. She went on to say that she made a decision for herself to have sex only when she is married. Cal was getting the idea...

This text dealt with sexual abstinence, as said at the beginning. The topic is appealing to young people, which often don’t know how to deal with such situations. A main message of the text should therefore be to hold on to your decisions and not let them be broken by another human. In addition, the text means that it is not bad to be abstinent and others, here Cal, must respect the decisions of the individual, here Beth. So Joan Bauer means that a relationship is based on two individuals and you give each other the necessary appreciation and the necessary respect, even if you have to make sacrifices ...
