need help polishing my english! Urgent!

School, is the first encounter a child has with the social world. The type of school one goes to shapes the life of an individual.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to attend one of the elite Schools of Delhi. My school, besides academics provided a holistic approach to education and life. It gave me freedom to explore the world in order to satisfy my curiosity towards all the strange and wonderful things in the world around me.
Imbibing the genes of my parents, I too have become an ardent reader, but am very choosy about the genre of the books I read. I enjoy books of upcoming Indian authors who delve into mundane instances of life and make them interesting. Reading a novel is not just a hobby, as I prefer to indulge in it before calling it a day. Other than books, I feel blogs are another excellent way of expressing oneself but they lack the essence of holding a book and transforming into a different world. Like all teenagers my age, I like listening to music, Pop and Rock, being my favorites. Being an extrovert, I enjoy meeting new people, befriending them as well as keeping up with my old friends. A couple of years back; I took up theatre, casually, during summer break, but developed a liking for performing on stage. Sports are another thing that interests me. I am a keen fan of club level football. Formula One Racing is another favorite, last years, Indian Grand Prix had me in awe and seemed like a dream come true. Another passion, traveling. Although I have traveled extensively in India and abroad, the lure of seeing new places never seems to die.
I have grown up in a family of numbers with countless cousins, uncles and aunts. Although my immediate family consists of my parents and a younger sister, there is a strong communiqué with cousins my age. My parents have stable careers, thus making more time for family bonding. Living in a joint family and being the eldest grandchild, I have had my share of being pampered. A bonus of staying with elders is that history is often recounted with their special and extraordinary experiences.
Liberal Arts, from what I have understood, offer a variety of subjects under one course, two contrasting subjects can be taken up as a major and minor. It aims to widen strength of mind and equips the well organized intellect to a rational analysis. Through the program offered at Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts, I intent to obtain diverse knowledge and develop a strong opinion, values, beliefs which are free and not based purely upon authority. SSLA is suited to me, because it would provide me with a better sense of judgment and understanding as well as endow me with a systematic view of reality. I am indeed looking for a well rounded learning experience, wherein divergent thinking is encouraged. The institute with its eminent faculty, innovative research, competitive academic environment, immense industry exposure offers the right blend of theoretical and practical knowledge required to reach my goal. It will help me become a creative problem-solver, identifying efficient methods to correct situations. And also improve interpersonal communications with individuals at all levels.
After four years of this course, I see myself appearing for the civil services test held by the Indian Government. And once selected, I hope to contribute to the country which has given us so much. I envision myself to represent my country as a successful, developing, yet a united nation.
