Here are a few with a similar meaning ...

She was adorned by a beautiful summer dress.

She is draped in a beautiful summer dress.

She is garbed in a beautiful summer dress.

I prefer draped if the dress was the focus of beauty but adorned if the woman was the focus.

Or with some more changes ...

A beautiful summer dress clung to her.

The thing is that they are beginners students. That's why I'm asking is 'has on the body' is an appropriate explanation for 'is wearing' in the sentence given.

She is wearing a beautiful summer dress.

She is wearing a bikini.

She has put on a beautiful summer dress.

That changes from the stative idea of wearing to the dynamic idea of putting on, but the two sentences effectively mean the same thing.

You might use "has on", but that's not so common an expression.

Hi Jim,

Thanks again. For further explanations for the verb 'wear, for example: She is wearing a bikini. She always wears jeans on week-ends. etc.

Can I give the explanation just like this?

Wear: have/has ... on.

Thanks

Wear: have/has ... on.
You can. Will that make wear easier to understand? To me, the more difficult concept to understand is have/has ... on, and I would be tempted to explain that idiom as wear.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply.

CalifJimTo explain 4 as 10 - 7 + 6 - 5 seems more complicated than to explain 10 - 7 + 6 - 5 as 4, if you see what I mean.
I guess I do. Number 4 stands for 'wear', doesn't it?

But the thing is that they have these sentences:

She is wearing a bikini.

She is wearing a beautiful summer dr
