Need help phrasing a sentence

I am writing a paper and I'm having trouble with a sentence. It's the 2nd sentence below...

When I was a child, I would often times enjoy reading a story or having a story read to me. I would not, however, enjoy writing a story.

Is the second sentence correct? If not, how can I say this better? I would greatly appreciate any help!
