1) spelling of OGRE is wrong
2) better to use a pairing in the same grammatical form:
"Laughter and tears..."
or "Laughing and crying......"
3) personally I wouldn't use gaity in this old-fashioned way any more, it has really shifted to denote homosexuality for most readers, so I'd choose another word there, or re-phrase totally.
