Need help in motivation letter

I am applying for master's program in KTH institute Sweden and need help for my letter. Kindly help.

I was always fascinated about the automatic devices and wonder about their control which motivated me to opt undergraduate program in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. During my program, I visited different industries where machines are operated manually, which increases the workload and affects the productivity. Therefore, I would like to make use of everything that I’ve learned so far to improve the quality of product and human life. I sincerely believe your thesis-based master’s program in System, Control and Robotics is the next step that would provide an impetus in the pursuit of my goals. Eventually, after gaining practical knowledge and skills, I plan to start my own firm which will provide smart and automated solutions to government, organizations and the general public, helping them to create a smart and sustainable environment.

My academic competencies, I hope, will help me realize my dream. Throughout my instrumentation and control engineering undergraduate program, I always passed with first division. I was among the top 3 in the final semester and graduated with first class with distinction. In college, courses that I found especially absorbing were ‘sensor and technology’, ‘electronic devices and circuits’, ‘advance microprocessor and embedded system’, ‘PLC-DCS’ and ‘building automation and security system’.

In the third year, I worked on a mini-project on ‘Bi-directional Visitor Counter’ which was based on the functioning of a microcontroller, to count the number of people present in the room at a particular time.

In the final year, I carried out a project on ‘Automated Liquid Dispenser’. The main aim was to reduce the cost and maintain the taste of the cocktails by automating the conventional liquid dispensers. We had used PLC from Allen Bradley Micrologix. The setup includes solenoid valves and the liquid sensors, synced to the PLC in which ladder logic is developed to release liquids in precise quantities. The project was co-sponsored by ‘Little Italy’, one of the leading local restaurants in Aurangabad.

The curriculum consisted of a seminar, ‘Instrumentation System Design’ where I spoke about the various factors which influence the designing on an instrument. I have attended several workshops and training programs on campus during the undergraduate program like the ‘Calibration Workshop’ in 2012, ‘PLC Training’ in 2013 and ‘Security Systems’ in 2014.

Apart from studies, I have always been actively involved in several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. From January 2015 to April 2015, I participated in a short self-study course, ‘Rio+22 United Nations Sustainable Energy for All India’ organized by Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (Mumbai) and secured an excellence grade ‘A’. I had also participated in a national level robotics championship, ‘Robotryst 2012’ organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. I had participated in ‘Techno Blitz 2012’, organized by MIT (Aurangabad) and won the first prize in inter-college ‘LAN Edge’ gaming competition.

I dream of faster, better and efficient future. To accomplish this goal, I believe your graduate program provides me the ideal platform required. It will also open new windows of opportunity to work with renowned organizations and remarkable people who are experts in their field. Be it the facilities like the department of Automatic control and Robotics and the courses like Autonomous systems and automatic control which match my interests, I am confident that with due diligence, hard work, and guidance, all the goals can be achieved. Therefore, I look forward to pursuing graduate studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
