Need Help for Motivation Letter

Dear Sir / Madam,

With this letter I hereby would like to express my motivation for a PhD position in Integrated Hydrosystem Modelling offered by *** University.

I obtained Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 201* and Master’s degree in Water Resources Management in 201* from Universitas *** with Fast-track Scholarship Program. Since the beginning of my academic studies I have been enthusiastic to take part in research on numerical modeling and simulation. I wrote Mathematical Model of Groundwater Flow Motion Using Temporal Solution of Numerical Method Runge-Kutta 4^th Order for my undergraduate thesis and Simulator of Helical Flow Hydrodynamics at Meandering Phenomenon Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics for my thesis. Both of them pulled me to understand, notice patterns, predict and explain what is going on in a hydrosystem.

To improve my understanding about hydrosystem modeling, in the end of my studies I got an opportunity to join workshop about GIS, Remote Sensing and Hydrology Modeling in Georgia held by *** University and *** University. This workshop made me realize that modeling is not merely to satisfy curiosity about the hydrosystem, but to solve problems around us.

After finishing my studies, I worked for a while as design engineer. During this time I learned a lot about working with people in different disciplines and about myself. I strengthened my conviction to back on the right track.

I want to work with hydrosytem modeling and be an expert. In few years, I see myself lecturing hydrosystem modeling and going into consulting sustainable water resources management. After I read carefully the description of the PhD positions and the course requirements in Integrated Hydrosystem Modelling offered by *** University, I believe that it perfectly matches my research interest and profile.

German higher education is one of the best in the world. Studying in Germany is an opportunity for me to develop my skill to work in multi-cultural and international environments and also I will hold German university degree which is highly respected by people worldwide.

To my knowledge, this position is very competitive and attracting highly motivated students, but I am convinced that my good academic record and my motivation make me a strong recommendation for a place at it.
