Need help fast with grammar and punctuation on short summary
“Let’s Tell the Story of All American Cultures” by Ji-Yeon Mary Yufill is written about a controversial topic many people still debate about today. In this story Ji-Yeon discusses when growing up she never learned much about minorities. She explains past events that she was not aware of as a child that changed America. Such as when the Indian tribes got massacred and their land taken from them or not even knowing that Asian immigrants were the ones who first turned California’s deserts into fields. Knowing she grew up with limited information about other cultures and their effect on the nation Ji-Yeon feels that multicultural education in America will help unite people. She believes that by teaching people about the history of America and showing how different cultures had a part of what America is today, will bring people closer and show them they are all Americans. Still many people argue that if this were to happen national unity will decrease and one day not exist. America will be divided into different ethnicities. Ji-Yeon believes though by showing people the good and the bad of every culture will allow them to see that even though good and bad things happened we are all still Americans.
