Need help expressing myself in these sentences please

Could you help me fix these sentences please?

1 When you first commented on the way I dressed I didn't take it as badly as when I told my friend what you had said.

2 He smokes to get rid of the pain from living in such an ugly city.

3 You know you work at a job you don't like when you don't want to go or that you feel useless in your job. People know what it's like having to work in a job they don't like.

4 The way she recounts the events that transcribed, you start hating the people she talks about as she makes it look like they are bad people when in reality they aren't.

5 The pain in my stomach came back (just) speaking of her; knowing that she depends on you fully/leans on you fully and had no other means of survival.

6 Our love for each other peaked at the age of 30. Then in was on the decline.
