Need help. Definition on 'the fields' (Unit 1)

Hi Teachers,

Original sentence, 'Coke often works in the fields outside' (He is in prison now.)

Could you tell me if the given definitions are appropriate for the phrase 'the fields'? If not, suggestions are more than welcome.

The fields can be cultivated areas of land.

The fields can be areas of land for keeping animals.

Thanks in advance

Hi Philip,

Thank you very much for your reply.

What seems inappropriate is the name "Coke". If this is pronounced the same as the soft drink and is intended to be an English name, then this would be very unusual. I've never heard of a person named Coke. The word "Coke" has such strong connotations in English that it would not be appropriate for the name of a person.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your concerning, but there is a CD along with the story. So I can't change it at all.

Best,

TS
