1)What's the difference between worse & worst.

2) When to join to words using hyphen. eg. career-oriented.

Thank you for this extensive course on the hyphen.
I'm still at a loss to do with the following examples, though. Do these need a hyphen?

lowest mass galaxies
less massive galaxies
most massive galaxies
more massive galaxies etc..

and this one: 'nicest dog owner'? It depends which one is the nicest right, the dog or the owner?
