Need HELP..

Emotion: crying

"Basal tears are always in your eyes to help keep our vision clear, protecting the eye’s surface."

why not "help keeping"? What kind of construction is this?

When do I use it?

It's really an infinitive - there's an implied "to" in there. "... ".

When I asked about the construction I meant the "help keep" construction (infinitive), not the gerund one. But I got it now..
