Need grammatical help

We parents are choosing wording for a graduation announcement, and we need advice on proper singular/plural usage.

Robert L. Adams
David R. Harris
Brian C. Smythe
the senior class of
Providence Christian School
"announce" our
commencement excercises
etc...

I think it should be "announces" as senior class is singular. Others think it should be announce because there are three boys' names.

Please offer help so that we can break our deadlock and get these announcements ordered.

Thank you,
confused moms

Hi Confused Moms,

Isn't the subject really the three boys?

Robert L. Adams, David R. Harris and Brian C. Smythe, the senior class of Providence Christian School, announce our commencement exercises ...

'senior class' seems here to be merely an appositive.

Robert L. Adams, David R. Harris and Brian C. Smythe, who make up the senior class of Providence Christ

Hello CMs

Perhaps you could say '...would like to announce...', and keep everyone happy.
