Jim, Thanks for reply my question, actually i know the meaning of lawsuit,patent and infringement by referring dictionary before i post the question to this forum. First of fall am not expert in english and my englsih comprehensive also not so good and plz excuse for my poor english.

But still unable to understand what the sentence saying.

Based only on the sentence and not on history (because I don't know) he could have been the plaintiff and not the defendant. He was involved - we don't know that he was the one being sued, on that sentence alone.

True. I hadn't thought of that. I don't know the history either. So it should be "Nobel accused someone of or was accused of violating patent law".
