Need Corrections on Multiple Choice Exercise

Hi Teachers,

According to this paragraph, are options 'a, b, c' correct? If not, will you correct them please?

A large number of Americans-almost 40 percent-live in the same place all their lives. They never live anywhere else. However, some other Americans are ready for a change.

Circle the letter that indicates the main function of the underlined word.

a. It is used to give the reason for something. (Eg. 'Because')

b. It indicates that the second sentence contrasts with the previous one. (Eg. However)

c. It is used to connect clauses that contain ideas of cause and effect. (Eg. 'So')

Thanks in advance
