Need corrections and suggestions, please

I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for taking the time to meet with me last Tuesday, I truly enjoyed our interview.
During our interview, you had mentioned to reach out to you in case I see a match position out in the field; well XXXXX posted a position title “XXXXXXXXXXX” and I feel I would fit in well and could contribute much. I hope that my skills and abilities might match with Position.
I would therefore like to humbly ask you if this position is already filled, because I would not like to spend the time and effort to prepare an application for the position if someone has already been chosen.
