Need at ...!

hi friends,

Sometime it gets really unbelievable when I do not understand the actual sense of a sentence and one of them is.

"Never extend your hands of need at people."

What does the sentence means? Is it either suggested to never beg or to never blame others"

Waiting for your reply

Many thanks

It is wrong; it should read 'Never extend your hand of need to people'. To me, it means either 'don't beg' or 'don't offer help'.
