Need advice on a kiddo's sentence, thx sooo much! =D

Hi everyone,

A kiddo wrote this and I thought there's something wrong with it. Can anyone help proofread it? Thx soooo much!

My father and mother tell me some special thing that make me happy.

A "kiddo"? When the person uses the present tense, it sounds like it happens repeatedly. Every night, before I go to bed, my father and mother tell me something special that makes me happy.
