Need advice on 2nd conditional, thx soooo much!

Dear all,

May I know if I can use "would have" instead of "will have" in the following conditional sentence?
Thx soooooo much!

If John helps around in the house, his mother (would have / will have) more time for him.

No, you can't do that. will have is the correct form. That makes it a first conditional sentence, by the way. If you want a second conditional, you need

What about using modal in the "if clause" as in...

They will stay longer in US if they (can find / find) a cheap hotel.

I suppose that's a structure problem, isn't it?
We have to use "present form of the verb" in the if clause.
Please help clarify again..

Both can (find) and find are present tense, so either will do fine.
They will stay longer in the US if they can find a cheap hotel.
They will stay longer in the US if they find a cheap hotel.
In the second conditional form, change can (find) to could (find) and find to found.
