[Need advice] IELTS writing task 2

Topic: the leader or directors of organizations are often older people. But some people say that young people can also be a leader. To what extent do agree or disagree


Over the past decades, concerning about criteria for choosing a great leader between the young and the old has never failed to have public attention and spark controversies. The aged population have extensive knowledge and expertise while the young population tend to enthusiastic, creative and always update new knowledge, methodology, which both bring value for the stable development of companies or organizations. In my opinion, criteria of choosing leader should be based on capacity and vision instead of age.


On the one hand, it probably true that seniors always have massive experience which is accumulated for a long time, is one of key factors helping leading a group or a company as well. This arguments could be true to some extents. However, they should take into the fact that these experiences sometimes seem not to suitable current business situation, especially in modern technology and breakthrough in industry. Whereas, the young generation with a wide variety of opportunities for learning and updating new knowledge from over the world can easily have a suitable strategies and long term vision which having vital impacts for their organizations.


On the other hand, it is equally important to recognize that becoming a great leader needs not only wide range of knowledge and experience but also an influential impacts and good manners. Therefore, who meets all the criteria would have potential keeping the highest position in company instead of their age. For instance, the prime minister of Canada is a young people with just over 30 years old, or Mack Elliot Zuckerberg - the founder of facebook who is also just over 30 years old.

In conclusion, young people or old people have a same opportunities to become a good leader as long as they have a good vision, strategies and strong spirit which bring ore value for their organizations in specific and for civilization for general. Under no circumstances, should choosing people for the important position base on criteria os age.
