Hi, this is my sentence: "I called a business meeting that, when over, settled a …" Does anyone have a less bland word than "over?" For the life of me I can't figure out a better word for how to end a meeting. Does "adjourned" mean to start or end a meeting? Thanks.
I suggest you just say eg "I called a business meeting that settled a …" or eg "I called a meeting that settled a …"

If you adjourn a meeting, it means you stop it temporarily with the intention of continuing it later.
