I'm improving my writing style for university and spend much time reading dictionaries. However, when writing I try to find single words instead a multitude of words to describe something. For example, instead of writing 'a difficult situation' I would now write 'a quandary.'
So my question is this: Are there any programs online where I can find single, replacement words for longer phrases of wording? Most programs are for Scrabble and other such games. But is there a program for what I've described?
Thank you,
Lee.
