Can I formulate congratulations like this or is there a better way to do it....

Grammatically, you're okay (once you add the anniversary, as noted by MH).

But:

1) We wish you a nice day is a little bland - Try We wish you much joy today

2) If it's their golden anniversary, they are probably already about 70. So wishing them a long and happy life together is nice - but after 50 years, you hope they have already had a long and hap
