Need a hand

Hi,I was wondering if there were any difference between both of these following sentences (or mistakes):

-I remember seeing her when entering the room

-I remember seeing her when I entered the room

Which one sounds better?

(Actually, I feel like I still have some difficulties differenciating the form "WHEN+ing;WHILE+ing and BY+ING ,so if you give me a hand about this by the way,That'd be kind of great!)

Thanks for helping!

Sick Of englishCould you replace ce sentence "Ken ..." with "Ken likes to sip vodka while he reads"?
Yes. In fact, I prefer this version of the sentence, and also wine instead of vodka.
