NEARS or GET CLOSER

Can you tell me if these are correct?

- As the wedding day gets closer/nears, I feel more and more stressed.

- The nearer the wedding day gets/The closer the wedding day gets, the more stressed I feel/am.

Thank you

- As the wedding day gets closer /nears , I feel more and more stressed. [either is ok, but I think "nears" sounds a little more archaic / old fashioned] - The nearer the wedding day gets/ The closer the wedding day gets, the more stressed I feel/am. "I feel" / "I am" are interchangable.

  • [either is ok, but I think "nears" sounds a little more archaic / old fashioned] - The nearer the wedding day gets/ The closer the wedding day gets, the more stressed I feel/am.
  • "I feel" / "I am" are interchangable.
  • You can debate the philosophical meaning of "I am" ( to be something) versus "I feel" ( I have a feeling of something ), but in normal conversation "I am happy/sad/bored/stressed/tired/hungry/etc" is common usage and quite acceptable.
