Could you tell me which one sounds more natural between the following sentences? Thank you.
A. Those people who are driving such fundamental changes are known as “the Cultural Creatives,” though their role in society is not obvious or flashy. As voluntary subjects, the Cultural Creatives ask themselves questions such as – “What is a good life?”, “What things are truly important in life?”, and “What are we living for?”

Those who are driving such fundamental changes are known as “the Cultural Creatives,” though their role in society is not obvious. As independent thinkers, the Cultural Creatives ask themselves questions such as “What is a good life?”, “What things are truly important in life?”, and “What are we living for?”
I didn't say it was awful. I was asked to pick the most natural, which to me means also the one with the best style. B starts out with a non-restricted 'people': that is a poor beginning. 'Not striking but fundamental' is confusing, and 'voluntary and independent' seems redundant.
Thank you very much for your advice! By the way, could you tell me how I change the expression, 'not striking but fundamental' into other words while keeping the original sentence structure?
