Natural Expression

When a thirsty 5 year-year old boy(who visits grandmother's home) wants to drinnk water, what can he say?
"Granma, can you get me water/something to drink?" is okay?
I feel "Give me a cup of water, please." is not sutible for that situation and his age(because grandmother's home is not a restaurant).
Am I wrong?
