Natural?

Hi teachers. Please let me know if this is very natural American English.

"I live a bit out of the city."

"How far out?"

"It's a forty-minute drive."

Top answer

"a bit out of the city" doesn't work, especially when it's a forty-minute drive. I'd call that "pretty far (out) from the city". Otherwise, OK.
