Nation's largest bank..
Please see the following sentence:
The decision by nation's largest bank to admit to $2 billion in potential losses could mean less lending by commercial banks to developing countries and (increasing the pressure)/(increased pressure) on lenders to supply the funds.
Both - increasing the pressure and increased pressure, are participial phrases (one present participle and the other past participle). So, how do I decide which of these is better in this situation.
Also, what kind of a structure is "less lending"? 'less' is obviously adjective but how about 'lending'? Doesn't look like a participle.

- Lending is a noun (gerund), and less is an adjective.
