Narrative Essay

Any suggestions?
Thank you

I have always been influenced by my parents on how not give up so easily when it comes to my education. That no matter how harsh the struggle might be, there will always be a way for me to overcome it. We once had a conversation that made me more understanding of why having my education was so important for them. It had always been the main priority for them to keep me in school so that I could achieve my goals and dreams.
June 10, 2013; it is 6:30am finally graduation day. Probably one of the most important days of my teenage years.

My mom begins to wake everyone with, “It’s time, everyone get wake up we can’t be late!”

Of course, my dad would get up to calm her down like every other time when she becomes excited. By the time everyone was done getting ready, we were running late by 20 minutes! There is traffic on the freeway and I can feel the tension of my parents getting frustrated that I just might be late for my own graduation. We arrive and everyone runs out the car like wild animals.. Well, at least that’s how I saw it. I seemed to have arrived 10 minutes before the ceremony started. I become a bit anxious, It felt like those moments when your life just flashes in front of your eyes. As the minutes began to flash away, I felt this joy and happiness that I had finally accomplished one of the biggest moments of my life. There was nothing that could take that moment away from me.

As I began to walk across the stage, all I see is the smile on my parents face, it was just happiness and the look of proud parents. Those few seconds were probably the most important seconds of my life. As I continue to look around I see my peers with the biggest smile they had ever shown. Knowing that we worked hard to receive such a great treasure made me realize it wasn't just my parents who pushed me to do my best, but it was also my classmates. We all did the best we could to keep each other on our feet.

As the ceremony is coming to an end, it was time to say goodbye to those who stood by me in long run. I wasn't planning for that moment to be easy, yet it brought me joy to all my peers one last time. As I walked out I saw my parents across the street with flowers, balloons, and just about anything they could find to make me stand out. They received me with a hug and an, “ I love you and we are very proud of what you have accomplished.” At this moment, I'm convinced that my parents are the most supportive and loving people in the world. That no matter what obstacles I face they will always be standing on the other side to receive me with all the love a parent can give to their child.
