Narrative

Hi, what do you think about this story? The underline part is a text I had to add to the story. I was homework

As people get older, they suffer from loneliness. But this wasn’t the case for Margot and Robert, who found a way of still having fun on their own. They decided to do all the things they couldn’t when they were younger. Every Friday, they would go to the cinema, every Saturday they would have lunch with their friends and on Sunday they eould visit some places from Buenos Aires they didn’t know. Since they found them so delightful, they started going more often, almost every night.

Robert loved driving his old red car through Buenos Aires ‘vibrant streets and Margot, who was an architect, couldn’t help falling in love with the mixture of ancient and modern buildings. Those places made them feel like years hadn’t passed at all. On their minds, they were teenagers. But reality hit them, when they were less expecting to.

As usual, Margot had her medical checkups done. But this time, the results weren’t good. She was sick and there’s nothing doctors could do.

Two months after that, Robert got up early, prepared Margot’s breakfast and then went to the supermarket. When he came back home, he noticed the food hadn’t been eaten. He went upstairs and found Margot in bed, pale and very cold. He immediately understood what was going on.

The following Sunday, he went to La Boca. But nothing was the same without Margot so he went home. He turned back the way he had come, the rhythm of the engine pouding in his ears. He began to doubt the reality of what memory told him. He halted under a tree and allowed the rhythm to die away. He could not feel her near him in the darkness, or her voice touch his ears. He waited for some minutes listening. He couldnhear nothing. The night was perfectly silent. He listened again. Perfectly silent. He felt that he was alone.
