Narcotic

Hi.

I am not into narcotics, but since my students ask questions about the meaning of each word, I have to expand my knowledge in different fields including narcotic.

I have encountered the words marijuana, cannabis, grass and hashish. First of all, are they synonyms?

I think all of them are made from the hemp plant, but are they made from the same part? stem? leaves?

I know this question is technical and might not interest you, but it would be kind of you if you post your explanation rather than providing a link to wikipedia.

Thanks a lot

As for hashish, it is "the top leaves and tender parts of the Indian hemp (which in warm countries develop intoxicating properties) dried for smoking or chewing," so
