Naming of polygons

Hello guys,

I don't know how to understand a sentence below, esp. the part marked in red:

[A polygon is named by giving its vertices in the order they are connected.]

For your reference, here is a discription in Wikipedia for naming polygons, which sounds reasonable and I can understand easily:

[ Individual polygons are named (and sometimes classified) according to the number of sides.]

I guess those two sentences mean same thing but have no idea how they can be so.

(Am I wrong?)

I hope to hear about your thoughts on how to interpret the part marked in red above.

The two sentences don't have the same meaning. This is how I would interpret them:

Individual polygons are named (and sometimes classified) according to the number of sides.
This means, for example, that a three-sided polygon is called a triangle, a four-sided polygon is called
