Vocabulary

namesake

Hello everyone,

I am confused about the part underlined below.
Does the part mean that the lake whose name is same as the downtown is handsome or the downtown is handsome as well as pleasant?

Would you help me figure out it?
Thanks

The other gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake is less chaotic and more charming than Estes Park – although it still rakes in tourists by the thousands during summer. The downtown is pleasant, the namesake lake handsome.

I think it means 'The downtown is pleasant and the
lake which is named after the downtown is handsome.'
