Name of the disease

I found some painless swellings on my body in different places. When I asked the doctor, he said there is nothing to worry. It can be removed by surgery and there is no specific treatment for that. He said it is 'fat deposition' and told me a medical term which rhymes with 'oma'. I forgot that term. What is it? Can anyone help?

Lipoma as what I have read about is is accumulation of fatty tissue in parts of the body. I think it is only benign but it much better if it is to be removed by Biopsy.

Hi,

There is no need for lipoma's to be removed unnecessarily unless they are growing fast or change in their appearance or are particularly worrisome to you as they pose no threat if this is what they are. Consider the choice of exchanging a lump for a scar? I would advise that you just keep your eye on it for any changes. Hope this helps
