The bar graph shows the percentage of male and female who are literate in six countries, namely Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Egypt, Kuwait, and Pakistan between 1990 and 2000. It can be seen in the chart that the literacy rates in both men and women increased after ten years. However, the rates of knowledge female in Bangladesh, Egypt, and Pakistan are still lower than that in the rest countries.
In Brazil, the proportion of literacy of men and women was approximately 80% in 1990, then both rose by nearly 9% in 2000. On the other hand, that of Chinese men was the highest in comparison with other countries but only grew by 4% from just under 90%. Nevertheless, the rate of literacy Chinese women in 1990 was 70% and increased to about 80% during the period.
The percentage of literacy female in Pakistan was the lowest (20%), almost similar to that percentage in Bangladesh. There is also a dramatic difference between the percentage of knowledge men and that of women in Egypt, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, about three times higher than the rate of women.
