My trip was three weeks / three weeks long?

Hi all,

I guess this is correct:
My trip was three weeks.

But I'm not sure if this is correct:
My trip was three weeks long.

I did some googling, and i came up with results like a course being 'two days long', but got nothing like 'two weeks long' or 'two months long'. I don't think it's not grammatical. It's just not natural, right?
