My teaching ideas have been running out

Hello!

I have been a private English tutor for almost 4 years. I have felt tired of teaching lately. It seems that my passion is not as much as I had before. I think I need some inspiring or some stimulation. Anybody has the same kind of feeling or any idea for me to keep my passion again?

Thank you!

I find the type of material I use has a major bearing on whether I enjoy teaching lessons or not. So, when I feel the material is stale, I look for more, or even better; I write my own. I think of something that interests me, and then write a lesson on that subject.

  • Thankfully, there are many sources of humourous 'news' on the internet (notably The Weekly World News), which may also provide inspiration.

Scott Thorburry has a How to Teach ... series. The series is very practical in nature and provides ideas that you can instantly use.

I think that you may enjoy experimenting with new activities and ideas in your teaching.

Good luck.
