SOP:

There is no one in this modern world today who is not touched by the effects of electricity and electronics especially computers. Their omnipresence, their Powers and their ever-changing face is what fascinates most of us. Therefore, it seemed natural for me to have interest in electronics.

In college, I always enjoyed working long hours in the labs. This gave me the opportunity to correlate theories to practical experiences. This in turn gave me a better understanding of the topics and newer lines of thinking. I took courses in Electrical Engineering such as Electrical Circuits I & II and digital system design and in Computer Engineering such as microprocessors and embedded systems.

I eagerly want to do research and work in electronics especially work relating to computer engineering like the design and development of microprocessors, Microsystems and data storage and solid state devices. I always do projects and assignments in the best possible way I can do even if this takes more time for me. Most of my assignments and projects have received the highest grade possible or near that. I believe this is my chance to continue in a field I have a passion for and I am willing to work to my possible best and advance in this field.

I have gained knowledge as well as valuable experience at the German University in Cairo. The excellent teaching and learning atmosphere have strengthened my determination to enter the world of Academia and Research. Research and development as stated by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, refers to: "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications". This is how I see research and that is how I am planning to do it. The tough routine has taught me that teamwork and patience is the key for doing good academic and research work.
My plan for the future is to always gain knowledge, develop my skills and have experience especially in my field of interest whenever possible. Then, use all my gained knowledge skills and experience to build-up this world as much as I can and to always bring joy and benefits to all the people around me and around the world, especially to those who are poor and in-need of it and who are close to me.

Therefore, I am applying to King Abdullah university of Science and Technology (KAUST) for masters in Electrical Engineering. It would be an honor for me to join KAUST, as I strongly believe that KAUST is the best next place for me to continue on the road to fulfill my aims and ambitions.
